This past weekend Ryan Villopoto dominated the rest of the riders to get his fifth win of the season. He got the lead early, and he was able to gap the rest of the racers. While Villopoto was out front, James Stewart struggled and he had to come back from dead last to finish fifth place. Stewart lost even more points to Villopoto in the points chase, and Stewart's chances of winning the championship have faded away. All he can do now is work on his starts, and try to get as many wins as he can. He will have to beat a very confident Villopoto if he wants to get a win.
Not only does Villopoto have the most wins this year, but he has also been in the top five every weekend. His worst finish of the year was a fourth at Los Angeles, where he came back from dead last and charged through the pack. Villopoto has definitely been the most dominate racer this year and heading into Daytona he definitely has all of the momentum.
Stewart is basically out of it if Villopoto can keep the consistency that he has. Even if Stewart wins some races he doesn't have the weekly good finishes that Villopot has to back it up.
